Single-carb entry: description and saving as a food

Give your single-carb entries a name and save the ones you use most as a favorite food, to reuse later.

What is a single-carb entry?

A single-carb entry is how you log carbs by hand, typing in the grams directly, without searching the food database. It's handy when you already know (or can estimate) how many grams of carbs are in what you're about to eat.

Entering the grams of a single-carb entry is free. The features below β€” giving it a name, entering calories, and saving it as a food β€” are part of Diablesse Pro.

Give the single-carb entry a description (name)

With Pro, you can give the single-carb entry a description β€” for example, "Grandma's cake".

This helps even if you don't save the item: the description becomes its title in the meal list, instead of the generic "Single-carb entry". So when you review your diary later, you instantly recognize what that carb was.

  • With a description: the item shows the name you gave it (e.g., "Grandma's cake").
  • Without a description: the item shows as "Single-carb entry", with the subtitle "added manually".
  • You can also enter the calories (optional). If you leave it blank, the app estimates the calories from the carbs.

Save it as a food to reuse

Ate something that isn't in the database and will eat it again? Save it as your food and skip retyping it next time.

  • In the meal entry, choose Single-carb entry and enter the amount of carbs (in grams).
  • Give the item a description (name) β€” that's what enables saving.
  • Turn on the "Save as food" option.
  • Tap Add.
  • Done: that single-carb entry becomes your food. It now shows up in Favorite foods and in search β€” next time, just look it up by name and add it.

The saved food is personal: it stays in your account and syncs across your devices. It does not go into the app's public food database.

  • Frequently asked questions

Do I need to save it to use the description? No. The description works on its own β€” it becomes the item's title in the meal list. Saving is one extra step, so you can reuse the food later.

Does my saved food go into the app's public database? No. It's personal: it stays in your account and syncs across your devices. No one else sees your saved foods.

Do I have to enter the calories? It's not required. If you leave it blank, the app estimates the calories from the carbs.

What happens if I cancel Pro? The foods you saved are not deleted β€” they become unavailable while the subscription is inactive and come back if you resubscribe.

Contact the developer β€” I reply personally.
